Circulation Procedures
Weekly Classes and Circulation Procedures
The Oakdale Elementary School Library is open every school day. Our library has an open library circulation policy, so students may come to the library at any time to return or check out books as long as they have permission from their teacher.
All students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade meet weekly for their scheduled library class times.
Students in grades K-5 are allowed to check out books. The number of books a student can check out during a visit to the library is as follows:
Pre-Kindergarten Teacher checkout based off pacing guide
Kindergarten 1
First Grade 2
Second Grade 2
Third Grade 3
Fourth Grade 3
Fifth Grade 3
Books are due two weeks from the date of check out. Students who have overdue books will only be allowed to check out one book during class visits only until their overdue books are returned. If students reach five overdue books, then they will not be able to checkout new books until there overdue book are returned.
The library can also be used as a meeting place for both teachers, students, and other visitors in out building. Teachers who would like to plan direct collaboration with the me are welcome to do so by scheduling a meeting during their preparation period or anytime during the library’s open time. Mrs. Hendricks is ready and willing to provide teachers with printed materials and technological resources for their class.
